Nine illegal immigrants were found near Newmarket, stowed away in a lorry. The police were called, and arrived with a minibus.
They took the men to Cambridge railway station, gave them train tickets and told them to make their own way to an immigration facility in Croydon.
Needless to say, none of them did - they softly and silently vanished away.
This is the nub of the problem, really, isn't it? Immigrants are more intelligent and more determined than the British authorities who are supposed to deal with them. Simple as that. We deserve all we get.
Detective Inspector Alan Savile of Cambridgeshire Police, said "In matters of this nature, the police are led by the UK Immigration Service which in turns follows the Home Office instruction. In this instance, the Immigration Service in St Ives was consulted and the decision taken to direct individuals to the immigration facility at Croydon, which is accepted practice."
It never occurred to Cambridgeshire Police, then, to say "Look, we're quite important because we're the police, and we think what you're suggesting is bloody silly so we're not going to do it".
Now, here's what we think ought to happen next.
We think someone ought to go down to the offices of the Immigration Service in St.Ives, find out which retard gave the instructions for this pathetic bit of irresponsible lunacy, and disembowel him with a spoon. Slowly.
They could film it, and put it on YouTube. We could do with a laugh.
